My year so far!Heya all......
Been such along time since ive blogged on here.. So... hows your year been so far?
Mines been quite good actually, Not really done anything extravagant but over all its been good. Abbie has done really well in school so far, She started doing a inclusion morning at a normal school on a monday, That soon changed to a full day and now its moving on to two days a week. We are so proud of her for all her effort she has put into bettering herself and controlling her temper. Well Done Kiddo!!
In febuary we brought a new car, Nothing posh, Just a Proton gen 2 cam pro. Nice little run around to get him back and forth to work lol. Its extreamily economic, and comfy.
In April Me & My sister gave my front garden a complete makeover. We erected a small fence. Layed new purple slate and added pot plants. I think we did an excellent job considering it was alcohol fueled lol.. Was extreamily hard work tho, Hammering them posts home and making the fence panels. Well worth it tho. It looks 1000 times better and it keeps the kids away from my windows lol.
In july it was our 10th wedding anniversary, As a suprise Keith booked us a boat trip to & Dinner on the Isle Of Wright. It was amazing. I had a fantastic time. We got a little bit wet on the boat but was well worth it!!
In August Abbie had her first vacation away from us. She went to my Sisters in Southend for a 5 days. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and wants to go back again next year. My sister said she had been a pleasure to have!!
In September we went to our very good friends wedding, This was her 4th time of going down the isle ( the other 3 times she didnt make it, She ran) She is the original run away bride lol.
Anyways she looked stunning and had a fantastic day. Was only a small gathering but everybody made it a day to remember! In October we had our family vacation, We went to the Costa Blanca again & stayed at the same appartment complex as last year. This year was so much better tho, We went on a boat trip to Peacock Island and went on the Aqua Scope, Wich is like a mini submerine where you can see all the fish on the reefs, It was Totally awesome!
We also went on a coach trip to Guadalest ....... Perched on a mountain, some 595 metres above sea-level, the houses and Castell (castle) of Guadalest overlook a wide valley which is bordered by the mountains (sierras) of Aitana, Serrella and Xorta. At the base of the valley is the Guadalest river and the stunning, turquoise coloured Embalse de Guadalest reservoir. Apart from just enjoying the ancient village, fabulous views and charming shops, there are also some interesting museums including two minature museums, where original scale models are on show which are so small that powerful magnifying glasses are needed to view them. We visited the Beautifully crafted Antonio Marco museum. Miniture doll houses all the fantastic hand crafted details There is also a beautiful several ton Bethlehem Nativity scenario carved in to the mountain face ( wich houses the museum ) made from stone, brick, bonsai trees, plants & iron that took 20 years to make. Its well worth a visit !! We also went to Mundomar for the day, We watched the fantastic Dolfino show and watched the keepers feed the animals. overall it was really relaxing and fun filled. ( the pool was still freezing but we went in everyday and we had moonlit beach walks every night. It was fanfookingtastic!!!! On halloween us and our neighbours organised a costume street party. We decorated our drive ways with banners and scarey stuff and blew uploads of balloons.
I made my famous Tom-Bombs ( cherry tomatoes coverd in chocolate made to look like truffles.. We caught loads of people out on them hehehe It was a great night. Everybody made a fantastic effort to dress up.. We had the BBQ out and did Burgers & Hotdogs, Had plenty of drinks and fun & Games ! A great night was had by all. Well thats about all ive done this year, Not alot really, Just dont seem to have the time, But like i said earlier its been a great year in all....
Its now only a short few weeks till....Dare i say it? " CHRISTMAS "
I like christmas, I love getting all the decorations out and decorating the front of my house with loads of lights, And putting up the tree. What i dont like about it is all the pushing and shoving and worrying that the person is not going to like there gift! This year ive decided to get most people gift vouchers. - Much easier and less hassle. They can buy what they like and ill have no returns to deal with lol. Abbie has made her list, Its all electrical. Her main gift she has asked for is a Digital Camera In Pink LOL !
I have no idea what to buy my Hubby, What do you get somone who has virtually everything lol ( any suggestions gratefully accepted lol ) first tho i have to sort Abbies birthday gift out ( she is 11 on the 22nd Nove )... I have no clue what to get her. She has asked for a couple of things but she`ll have to wait and see lol...
Anyways i do hope everyone is well. And ill wish you all a happy xmas and all the best for 2010 ( just incase i dont blog again till this time next year lol )
Stay safe out there, Lissa.xx A Jolly Good Explanation - From A Mans Point Of View
The wife came home from work early and found her husband in their bedroom making love to a very attractive young woman. Understandably, she was somewhat upset. "You are a disrespectful pig!" she cried. "How dare you do this to me - a faithful wife, the mother of your children! I'm leaving you. I want a divorce straight away!" Her husband replied, "Hang on just a minute luv, I can explain what happened." "You can try", she sobbed, "but they'll be the last words you'll say to me!" So the husband began - "Well, I was getting into the car to drive home and this young lady here asked me for a lift. She looked so down and out and defenseless that I took pity on her and let her into the car. I noticed that she was very thin, not well dressed and very dirty. She told me that she hadn't eaten for three days! So, in my compassion, I brought her home and warmed up the soup I made for you last night, the soup that you wouldn't eat because you're afraid you'll put on weight. The poor thing devoured three bowls in moments. Since she needed a good clean-up I suggested a shower, and while she was doing that I noticed her clothes were dirty and full of holes so I threw them away. Then, as she needed clothes, I gave her the designer jeans that you have had for a few years, but don't use because you say they are too tight. I also gave her the underwear that was your anniversary present, which you don't use because I don't have good taste. I found the sexy blouse my sister gave you for Christmas that you don't use just to annoy her, and I also donated those boots you bought at the expensive boutique and don't use because someone at work has the same pair." Then he took a quick breath and pressed on - "She was so grateful for my understanding and help and as I walked her to the door she turned to me with tears in her eyes and said, "Please ... Do you have anything else that your wife doesn't use?" Last couple of weeks. The last couple of weeks have been so hectic.
Hubby decided he wanted to cove the rest of the downstairs of the house, Like a fool I kind of agreed lol. It looks nice now, But my god how much mess can one person make just by coving round the ceiling. Of course because he has done that and had to fill in any gaps, there was filler, Adhesive, and horrid handprints everywhere. That I could handle, but the plaster dust oh my god!!
I've had to repaint the Whole Kitchen, and hall, stairs and landing. Plus all the woodwork including doors and re-polish all my wooden floors. He certainly has good timing what with Christmas not 3 weeks from now.
We had Abbie`s annual review on Wednesday( 3rd ), Her teachers and head master are extremely impressed with her. They said her behavior has improved 10 fold and she is now fully capable of working independently. There looking to get her on to a full day of inclusion in a main stream school as soon as possible. " Way To Go Abbs !! ".
Abbie has her school carol concert on Friday the 19th ( last day of term ) She has a solo to sing and is going dressed as a Angel ( how appropriate lol )
Anyways, Are you all ready for Christmas ??
I'm just about there, I've got all the families gifts, Just got to get Hubbies and 2 Ds games for Abbie.
Abbie is getting a full size Musical keyboard, Its massive lol, I've also spoke to her Music teacher in school about private lessons for her.
She also has a huge amount of Bratz dollz and accessories, High school musical stuff, Jewelry, Makeup, and bits and bobs.
Today I put our Decorations up. Looks all Christmassy now, Abbie is really excited He He.
We even put some out on the front garden and put lights up at the windows, And some starlight's going across the lawn. Looks wonderful.
( Must admit I'm excited too, I love this time of year )
This year is going to be a little bit special. We have Abbie`s Auntie coming to stay. She hasn't been here for Christmas in about 5 years, So this year its a little bit special for Abbie. She is really excited. I don't know which part is making her more excited the thought of new gifts or her Auntie coming to stay.
Anyways.........................
SEASONS GREETINGS TO YOU ALL
&
ALL THE VERY BEST FOR 2009 !!
Hope Santa is good to you this year.
Best wishes.

XXXX How Time FlysWell What can I say...
On this sat ( 22nd Nove 2008 ) My Abbie will be a grand young age of
10
Happy Birthday
Abbie
The years have certainly flown by. When she was a baby, Many people said to me " treasure the years as they fly by so fast and before you know it there off on there own life's adventures ! " How true is that ???. All us mums have most probably said this exact same thing but " it really does seem like only a month ago she was born ". My baby is no longer a baby. She is fast growing into a young lady. I'm so proud to say " she is my daughter ". Everyday I look at her and think about how much I have been blessed to have such a kind, caring, considerate and adorable daughter. She makes me so proud and I make it my duty to tell her so too. The last ten years have been a struggle, But I wouldn't change a single second of it. She has made me the person I am today. Thank you Abbie.
XXXXX
I`m backHello peeps.
I'm back from my holiday - Back to sunny Buckinghamshire .
We had a fantastic week. Loads of Sun, Sea and sangria !
Abbie enjoyed her first flight. She wasn't as nervous as I thought she would be and her behavior was absolutely fantastic, Not one hissy fit !!!
Most of the week it was really sunny and hottest ( 28 oC ). We had one afternoon of rain on and off, But we still managed some retail therapy lol.
We stayed at the Paraiso 10 on Calle Lerida, Was about a short 800 Meter walk to the beach but far enough to be able to sleep silently away from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife.
The Apartment was very nice, Clean and spacious. Catered for all our needs. The Pool was a bit cold though. Infact it was bloody freezing but that didn't stop Abbie and Isaac having a swim and splash about. lol.
We mainly did sight seeing and walked / played on the beach. We actually walked from start of Playa Levante Beach across Malpas Beach ( at the harbor) to end of Poniente Beach which is about 6 Km / 4.5 Mi in total.
Poniente Beach
Beyond the Old Town, Poniente Beach is to the west of Levante, and comprises a mammoth golden curl of excellent fine sand. Huge! If you don't want quite such a hectic time having fun in the sun this will be your better option as Poniente tends to be slightly less crowded.
Levante Beach
This is the sandy holiday hub for those who're out for fun and frolics, and is known as the sunrise beach. In high season it can get pretty crowded, although there are quite literally thousands of sun beds (over 5000 in case you're curious). It's backed by a broad promenade sporting bars and cafes and in short...it's lively!
Malpas Beach
You'll find Malpas Beach close to the harbor, beneath the port and the castle cliffs. Small, pleasant, and usually not very crowded, it's different again to Benidorm`s two other main beaches. Very beautiful and serene.
If you ever tire of the fabulous beaches in Benidorm, it is definitely worth taking a stroll around the narrow streets of the old town which overflows like an Aladdin's Cave with shops and small boutiques. The flat streets of the modern resort make it easy to get about and the wide avenues are lined with bazaars and stalls selling those all important holiday essentials. Locally-made crafts include lace, ceramics and leather goods - all of which are available from the weekly market at the top of the town. I`d advise you to take the local bus to the La Marina shopping mall, at Finestrat on the outskirts of Benidorm, for trendy boutiques and shoe shops.
We visited many traditional delis and boutiques selling traditional delicacies and designer clothes at reasonable prices. If you haggle many will compromise on prices lol.
For a taste of The real Spain though, you must visit Santo Domingo Street in the old town, otherwise known as Tapas Alley. It seems like every Spaniard under the sun gathers there to graze on big juicy olives and jamon Serrano.
We visited Mundomar, Which I think was a bit pricy €49 for 3 of us. - Mundomar is a marine animal park It is twinned with the water park Aqualandia, which is directly adjacent to it, . There is a viewing area at the top of Mundomar next to the ,Dolphinarium which gives a view of the majority of Aqualandia.
Many different species can be viewed at Mundomar, including Dolphins, Sea lions Penguins and many more marine and land animals. There are Dolphin, Sea Lion, and Parrot displays several times a day at the park, where visitors can watch trained handlers interacting with the animals, and putting on spectacular shows.
We were close enough to walk, although it was a very steep and gradient hill but because we had a baby with us we decided to take a bus ( No 1 ) which cost us €1.20 each
I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for things to do in Benidorm. The park is on a hill and has a great view over Benidorm town and the surrounding mountains. And the animals in the park are fantastic.
We had a wonderful time, the only downfall was there was so many little gift shops which all sold the same tat and every shop owner ( which just happened to be a Chinese person ), jumped on you as soon as you picked something up. This made us feel very unwelcome and discouraged us from purchasing anything from them.
Also there are just to many bars and places to eat lol. It made choosing somewhat difficult, As they all basically sold the same food and drink!
We shall be visiting Benidorm again, But earlier in the season as many of the local attractions where shut ready for winter. And we shall be going for 2 weeks so we can fit in everything we did`nt have time to do lol.
Have a good day now.
